Habs-Leafs

I'm not sure what they were talking about when they were saying a classic "original 6 battle" but Saturday night the Habs squashed the Leafs. Daddy was sure pleased. Note that the photo was taken early in the evening. Uncle Carl wasn't smiling much after the 1st period. As far as I know, he's still not smiling.

Chez Aunt Kathy

What a great pad my Uncle Carl & Aunt Kathy have! Too bad it's in Farhaven, I mean Barrhaven. They have a great basement which is ideal for watching the Stanley Cup playoffs. Too bad Uncle Carl's team won't be in them. Poor Leafs!

Cabane a sucre

This was my first trip to the Sugarbush. They said I was too young to try the snow taffee but I said this time is perfect since I have no teeth and the dentist can't be upset with me. They didn't buy it and instead kept me as an observer/object to show off.

How much for a baptism?

Here I am with Ken Robinson, the former minister of the Kanata United Church and close friend of Grandma and Opa. He's still doing baptisms and he's got a nice touch. I might be in the market for one.

Hello Mrs. Robinson

A trip out to Almonte wouldn't be complete without a visit with the Robinsons. It was a great pit stop on our way to the Sugarbush. I was awake just long enough to fall asleep again.

Great Grand visit

I got to go visit my Great Grammy's house. Not only did she offer me a tour of her pad, but she even served food. It was aged to perfection. Look how happy I am! I'll be back!!

March Madness

I went out with Mommy and Daddy's friends to take in some March Madness since they were in a pool. Here I am, with Trent and Pat, aka Fathead. Cool guys, but I couldn't cheer for their teams. I was under strict instruction from Daddy to cheer for Bradley, George Mason University and Texas. It helped because they all won and Daddy is leading the way in the pool.

St. Patty's Day

I don't even think Great Aunt Margaret is Irish, but her "great" spirit shows in her costume. Either that or she is actually an alien. I celebrated this day for my Uncle Carl who is Irish to the bone. You may not see too much green in my outfit, but believe me it was there.

1st pay cheque

It didn't take long for my parents to instill in me some discipline. They told me that nothing in life is free and that I have to work for things. This includes my schooling. So I've started working at the Cedar Closet, mommy and Glamma's store. Here you can see my 1st pay cheque. $25 is not much considering how many sales I make with my cuteness. However, I don't belong to a union yet so I don't have a lot of bargaining power. I'll start with this, get some good experience and work my way up to senior management.

Let me eat cake!

As Marie Antoinette said, "Let Soren have his cake and eat it too!" I figured if I could cut the first piece I would be able to get some cake for this fine occasion but I wasn't allowed. It was chocolate too!

The Choir

I've been practicing my singing but it still only sounds like anguished crying. I have to improve if I'm to impress Grandma and Valerie (here on the left) who both sing beautifully in the church choir.

Great Aunt Nancy

Finally I got to meet my great Aunt Nancy. Unfortunately she's been busy and under the weather, but it was sure worth the wait. Look at me puffing out my chest. Me Tarzan!

Great Auntie Bev

Mrs. J had a baby shower for me on Sunday. It was a lot of fun as I got to meet lots of people. Here I am with my great Auntie Bev. She thought I was so cute, she didn't want to give me up. Hey, check out my sneakers. Is my mommy a fashion guru or what?

Manager is watching

Even though Legs Leyden appears to only be holding me, I can tell that he's scouting me already. You see, he's the manager of Daddy's ball hockey team and he's already planning for when Daddy loses his speed and has to retire.

Malex

My good friends Mark & Alex came all the way from Kemptville to see me. I don't what makes them happier - seeing me or getting the chance to get out of Kemptville.

Toboganning

Since I'd mastered the alpine skiing, I decided to try my luck with the luge. This not quite Olympic-size track is right in front of the Burger Swiss Chalet. Or otherwise known as kleiner Schweiz.

Cheval Blanc Express

Here I am after winning the race. As is alpine racing custom, I'm flashing my brand-name skis to the camera. In this case, I'm hoping to get a sponsorship deal. I've got loads of potential. Who's ready to sign me up?

Protective parents

Clearly, mommy and daddy are very cautious parents and don't let me have any fun.
Someday I'll rebel and show them.

3 Generations of Skiers

This was my first ski trip. Opa and Grandma have a "swiss" chalet up at Mont Ste. Marie so I got my skis shined up and grabbed a stick of juicy fruit. The ski hill was pretty lenient as both I and Mr. Marley were allowed up on the chair lift. Even though I'm not yet big enough to carry poles, I sure loved the skiing.

Chipmunk off the old block

Like Daddy like son. They say I have my Daddy's eyes and chin but I would say that most clearly, I have his cheeks.

White Babies Can Jump!

Check me out! I had loads of energy so I decided to test the strength of my legs. I almost hit the ceiling with my spring. If skiing doesn't pan out, there's always basketball.

1st Swiss Fondue

Meine erste Schweize Fondue! Unglaublich! Actually, I only had the cheese later on through Mommy but even then it was delicious. Next time, I'll have to sample the kirsch.

Battle of Ontario

For my first Hockey Night in Canada, Grandpa bought me a Sens outfit. It's a good thing I can't stand the Leafs, because I wouldn't have stood much chance here, if I didn't like the Sens. With the 2 of us cheering on, the Sens handed the make believes their 7th head to head loss of the season.

Kanata Jaeggins

What would a party be without Uncle Hunts! Also here are his fiancé Anne and their crazy puppie Ralphie. I'm glad I'm not allergic because he left me some of his fur he didn't need. Look how calm Hunts is holding me up with one arm. His blocker hand too!

Orleans Jaeggins

I was privileged to have the East end Jaeggins attend the celebration. Pictured here are Kevin, Stephanie and Bella, who is very affectionate with her kisses, ie. slobber.

My One Month Birthday

Friday was my one month old birthday and some friends came over to celebrate. It was a great party with the Jaeggin clan. Though, when isn't it?

Tummy time!

Boy, that was an exciting road trip! I didn't realize all the work involved in education. I needed a break so I got to relax on my tummy.

The future of JMSB

I'm pictured here beside a model of the new JMSB building that is being planned. With my conditional acceptance to JMSB, this picture embodies the future strength of the John Molson School of Business, both in its investments in both capital and people.

Professor approval

My final step was meeting Dr. Alan Hochstein, Daddy's former economics professor. He is now the Director of the Investment MBA and he wanted to meet me to give his assessment. He has given me his acceptance on one condition. I need to submit to him a study on the command economic system functioning within Cuba. I'll have 2 years in Havana to complete the study and then I will be JMSB material.

Interview

I passed the pre-screening with flying colours because I was then invited for an interview on the spot with Anna Gunaratnam, the admissions officer for the program. While Anna is a good friend of Mommy & Daddy, I must stress that I achieved this on my own and that there was no favourtism displayed at any time. I know I did well because the admissions officer advised me that I would not have to write the GMAT, which is unprecedented. There was still one final step, however.

Pre-screening

After Lissa referred me, Marlene Lloyd conducted a pre-screening assessment. She looked at my credentials, experience and most importantly, my potential. As my CV is still a little thin, they put more weight on my potential.

Early Recruitment

Since I was in Montreal, I decided to check out one of the finest business schools in the country, the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University. I wasn't there 2 minutes when Lissa Matyas, the chief recruiter and wonderful judge of talent (after all she accepted my daddy into the school) , began recruiting me for the MBA. I must have impressed because they scheduled me for some interviews.

Slick Vik

Vik is a terrific friend from Montreal who also was an all-star on that case comp team. Look how much respect he has for Daddy and I - he put on a suit just for us.

On the floor with Dror

Another great friend from Montreal, Dror was on the all-star team with Daddy that organized the MBA case competition in 2003. He's real smart because he recruited Daddy onto that team.

Cedric & Megan

Here are some other great Montréalais. They both did their MBAs at Concordia and Cedric did an international exchange with Daddy to Paris where they attempted to try all 400 cheeses of France. They both admit that was more challenging than the courses at ESSEC. The good news is this recently married couple bought a place in Mommy & Daddy's old neighbourhood of le Plateau so I expect to make some more road trips to learn about the quartier.

Marguerite's Belated Birthday

Marguerite is practically 1 year older than me. She got me a great football outfit, so not to be outdone, I gave her a Winnie Pooh rocking horse/bear for her birthday. I found her quite curious because I should be her size this time next year. I have a lot of work to do.

Montreal Hosts

I went on my 1st big road trip this week. We went to Montreal, one of the best cities in the world, where Daddy did his MBA. These are our gracious hosts, Nicole, Andrew and Marguerite. Great people who know all about taking care of the likes of me.

Holidays are exhausting!!!

My daddy took some time off work to spend quality time with me. But it looks like I'm more tiring than his day job. He can't keep up to me. He'll be more energetic after he goes back to work.
