Still Proud

This had to have been one of the coolest days ever! I can't wait to be big enough to fight fires. But what if I can't find a fire? Mommy says I can't start one, so....

My Very Own

Oh, this is my truck. Well, since it's from an actual fireman, it must be pretty cool. I can put out baby fires with this one.

Which one?

Oh, that one on the right is mine to drive? Perfect. I like it.

The Real McKoy

Put my wagon away, here comes Soren in a real fire truck. Thanks to Papa for taking me down to the station to drive a real life-saving vehicle.

A little break

Even Firemen need a break and a quick refreshment. It's not easy fighting smoke and fires all day. I don't know firemen wear such big, bulky protective clothing. When you have no clothes, you're wearing nothing flammable. Who's the smart cookie?

Applesaucy

The spoon was just not that efficient. Look at the mess from the spoon. I can do so much better with my hands. Mmm, mmm!

Osito

Fun is hanging out with your best buddy, Osito. When I go to bed, Osito is there. When I wake up, Osito is there. When I dunk him in the toilet, who doesn't complain - Osito!

My Eyes

I dare you to look at me and not be mesmerized by my eyes. Look at me in this photo without looking into my eyes. Impossible, I say.

Stoppin' Tom

Don't get any impressions of me just yet. I'm not destined to be a country boy, yet I couldn't resist trying out this massive 4x4. Daddy's buddy Tom from Phuket in the red is the one who encouraged me anyways.

Name that tune

Sitting around a fire pit listening to some people sing and play guitar is kind of cool. No, I'm not playing name that tune because I don't know any tunes. I'm just tapping to the music. Tap, tap. Tap, tap.

Sitting on the Dock of the Bay

wasting tiiiiiiimmmme. Uncle Buck and I were just chillin' enjoying a beer and some star snacks. Not too much stress up at Ferguson Lake.

Now we're ready!

That's more like it. Now we're safe to leave. Hey Glamma, can I drive the boat now! What do you mean, we have to wait for Papa. You snooze you lose!

Life Jacket?

What do you mean I can't drive off just yet? At the Marina Hemingway, you don't need a life jacket. Of course, you do need a "permiso de salida" otherwise you can't leave the island by boat.

All Hands on Deck

This isn't exactly the crew that's going to win the America's Cup but Glamma has a lot of faith in me to put me in charge. I learned afterwards though that we were still anchored.

Just Bitter!

Whoever told me the sand was like chocolate didn't tell me in colour only! It's just bitter, not bitter sweet!

Sandy Snack

I know, I know, I'm not supposed to be eating the sand but it's just so tempting to put in my mouth. And this sand is nice and cool.

Waterboy

I'm not the kind of waterboy that sits on the bench. But I sure do like playing in the water. Mama caught me just long enough to catch my face, because I'm normally hard at work.

Enter Sandmen

Papa didn't have to encourage me too much. That sweet feeling of sand between the toes is irrestible. Especially when someone else has to give you a big bath after.

Real grass

This was really cool seeing and feeling
real Canadian grass. It's much softer and nicer to crawl in than the rough crab grass of the tropics. Even Papa doesn't seem to mind getting down in the dirt.

Playtime

With this new veranda, it's like you're outside without actually being outside. No risk of sunburn, no mosquitoes and no danger for us little guys. We can spread out our toys and no ants are going to bother us.

Construction Work

It's another tough day of work up at Ferguson Lake. Got to get out the dump truck and start working.

I didn't order this!

Hey! I didn't want any part of this pig roast. Get this pork off my plate. It's almost touching my cheese.

Pig Roast?

Some people come for the roasted pork, others for the delicious salads. But me, I come for the company and the crackers and cheese. Ferguson Lake has something for everybody.

Christmas in August

With the lights on the little evergreen tree and me in my sweater, it feels cool enough to be Christmas. What! It's August! What's wrong with Canada? It never gets this cool in winter in Cuba. Debbie doesn't seem to mind though.

No time for breakie!

Breakfast is ready? Who cooked it? Glamma? Oh, blaghh, no thanks. I'll be outside working.

Ahoy Captain!

I've learnt from Papa. No better way to impress than with your very own Pontoon.

Let's go Ladies!

Not only I am popular but I'm very civilized. If Sarah Lynn and Kirsty want to share me that's fine, but they can't fight over me. Life is too short!

Cheap section

While my older brother was hanging with Colin, baby Laura and I were hanging out in the cheap seats on the laps of Mommy and Laura's Daddy. Gotta love the under 2 rule.

Bon Voyage

This is us on our flight home to Canada. I didn't know it at the time, but while I was going home to Canada for summer holidays, Colin was actually leaving Cuba for good. We had a great time watching movies together. It was so much fun on the flight that I barely noticed that poor Daddy had to stay in Cuba to work.

Julio

Here's Julio with Daddy and us kids. He is our favorite driver and I think it's pretty obvious from this photo. He is so good with us and with the ability to "resolver".

Sr. Nadin

Hey Nadin, we might need you to take the wheel. It's hard to eat ice cream and drive at the same time.

Back Seat Driver

Here's Bernie the back seat driver with Colin and I. We didn't need her help, Colin the experienced one was at the wheel. I was so confident I was eating cake in the car.

Jack___'s in the Box

Here I am with my good buddy Colin, being very serious as usual. I can't remember if this was bumper cars or us preparing for our big flight to Canada together.

Young Canucks

Here are two of the youngest Canadians in Cuba. I'm not talking about Colin or his youthful Daddy, Craig. Darius and Laura are only 3 months apart.

Strike a pose

Oh, you said cheese? I thought you said , Freeze!

Blowin' a tune

I wouldn't recommend playing this harmonica right after I use it. I tend to blow into it with much enthusiasm and the mouthpiece gets a little bit wet.

Aiming High

I have a ways to go but I'm not scared to dream. You can see from what's in my hand that I want to be as tall as a giraffe.

Soren-in-a-box

I was so crammed in this box that it was hard to leap out like Jack. Colin in the background is not impressed.

Sniper

This is my celebration act after scoring a big goal. Jose in the background is so overwhelmed he had to take a seat on the bench.

Roller Hockey

When you live where there's no snow or ice, you have to make do. Roller hockey is as close as it comes in Cuba to the real thing. It may catch on before we leave.

Prince

This is Darius, the artist formerly known as Prince, with a tambourine for a crown.

Pelota!

The best way to make friends in Cuba is to bring a ball with you everywhere you go. The Cubans are baseball fanatics and are always playing in the streets, just like the Canadian kids do with hockey.

Not to be outdone

Now Yulia gets a turn with the real ladies magnet. Young blue eyes complete with the blond hair. What a deadly combo here in Cuba!

Cruisin' the old town

Holding the hand of yours truly, Yulia was getting lots of looks of envy. Who wouldn't want to hold my hand?
