Brontosaurus Burger

Just like Fred Flintstone used to love. If you look hard, really hard, you can see me up on the hill. Just a speck in front of old Bronto.

Daddy's Faves

These weren't quite the Triceratops,
Daddy's favorite, but they were
definitely from the same family of horned beast. Peaceful, plant-eating yet able to defend oneself. If only I ate veggies, I could fit in.

Harsh Realityf

If I was thinking Dinos were just oversized friendly beasts, this took me for a loop. Don't mess with the deadly T-Rex if you are bigger.

More my style

I could graze with this little creatures without skipping a beat.

Wild East

The oriente of Cuba on the eastern end of the island has always been considered a little wilder. This shot exemplifies the care-free, saddle-free lifestyle.

Pre-historia

After all of Daddy's meetings in Santiago de Cuba, it was my turn for some fun. We visited the Prehistoric valley 20 minutes from the city. No, I haven't shrunk, but these life-size mammal replicas sure are massive.

Tourists

As crossed through another mountain range connecting Holguin with Guantanamo we stopped at this amazing lookout. Even the Cubans we were with acted like tourists. It was a nice spot.

Eastern Tip

After coming down through the mountains of Moa, we ended up right along the coast of the most eastern point of Cuba. This was certainly worth rolling the window down.

Consulate

Our Honorary Consulate in Holguin is known for its service, but this is ridiculous. They gave me a lovely Teddy bear album and Daddy an amazing guayabera and we weren't even clients.

Puerco Asado

From Camaguey, we moved onto Guardalavaca in Holguin. This is where Luisa always delivers incredible hospitality. An old-fashioned Cuban pig roast was on offer. And the kiddies got their own big table.

Santa Lucia

Daddy and Maribel had some important meetings up at this resort area on the North coast of Camaguey. So Julio and I got to hang out at the pool. It was pretty hot up there.

Cyclists

The next day between Daddy's meetings we had another lunch. While people were lunching I had a chaperone who showed me all around the house and the yard.

Bright Sun

In this part of the country the sun can get pretty hot. We're not near the coast so there's no ocean breeze. Need to protect those eyes.

Suppertime

Some more great hospitality in Camaguey. Even Luisa and Yuri from Holguin were impressed by it all.

Local Labour

It seemed like this guy had been pushing this cart full of water jugs forever. I'm not sure how much he's being paid, but to help him out with his cause, Julio and I provided a helping hand.

Tea time

I'm missing something. Excuse me ladies, where's my cup of tea?

More locals

Julio and I couldn't pass up this opportunity to sit and chat with this nice, young couple.

Another local

This is Maribel, who works with Daddy. She is originally from Camaguey, so it didn't take her long to get to meet the locals.

Hanging with a local

The best way to really get to know a place is to hook up with the locals. This quiet fellow was sitting on a bench reading the newspaper, when I struck up a conversation with him.

Camaguey

This 3rd city in the middle of the island is quite pleasant to walk around in. It's best to do so with a local, like Maribel's cousin.

Camaguey Welcome

At the end of the first day, we stopped in Camaguey (about a 6 hour drive from Havana). Maribel's family lives there and invited us over for supper. While I wasn't too fancy on the meal, I certainly enjoyed hanging out with the locals.

Yee haw!

Not exactly a well known word in Cuba, but

I look pretty new myself, compared to the guy sitting in front of me, controlling this good mare.

Buffalo Time

Day One and first stop. Just outside Ciego de Avila, our good chauffeur Julio knew of a buffalo restaurant, in the country side. Bison, all round. Except for me. I'll stick to the banana chips.

Gran Pan

No, not grandpa! Big bread! With Mommy and Darius having to return to Canada in a hurry, I got the trip of my life. I got to go on Daddy's 9 day work trip around Cuba. Talk about getting things started on the right foot. A big baguette for the road.

Unacceptable!

Sorry Glamma, you can't serve this. Get back to work and produce something of quality.

Taste tester

Part of the "sur" chef's job is to taste the chef's production before it is served to the public. Let's see how good Glamma's rice is.

"Sur" Chef

You can't call me a sous chef if I'm on top of the counter. I prefer to oversee the action and make sure Glamma knows what she is doing.

Corked

I have not been feeling well, that it is true, but

that traditional medecine of a glass of sherry was not a good idea. Instead I just held onto the cork.

Sick Day

You can tall from this photo, that this wasn't one of my better days. I think I had a setback this day. Check out the puffy eyes.

Boxed out

This sums out my feeling. I was barred from so many activities, just like being boxed out of something.

Progress

Poco a poco, I was getting better in Canada, but man life was boring during the day. It was too cold for me to go out because I was still sick and I didn't have big brother Soren around as he and Daddy stayed back in Cuba. Glamma and Papa were at work all day too.

Keeping warm

Unfortunately, right after Costa Rica, I got sick again. I had a very bad case of bronchial pneumonia, that couldn't be beaten by antibiotics. When they wanted to put me in a Cuban hospital, Mommy & Daddy called Air Canada and the next thing I knew I was in the Canadian cold again.

Another superhero

I am a much more practical superhero. I have no real superpowers and my only weapon is my bravery. Not only do I climb ladders and rescue cats, but I help people out of danger when the going gets hot.

Giddy up!

When the web spinning is not working, sometimes Spidermen have to fight crime using other transportation means. This dynamic duo has found a couple of ponies to

assist with their tasks.

Mooooooove over

Spider man, here comes the real hero. The amazing cow that can provide milk, cheese, icecream, yoghurt, you name it.

No synergy

I know there are lots of superheros that have steady steeds or fancy cars, but I'm not sure that Spiderman, the man who swings through the city fighting crime spinning his webs, really needs a sheep.

Spidermen

Even the Daddies got into the act of spinning some webs. There's a superhero in almost everybody it seems.

Spiderman

Spins a web, anytime, here comes the Spiderman!!!

New Mask

Ooh! Who am I going to be? You have to wait to see the end product.

Double up

Is it us being so small or the slide being so wide? I'm not sure, but
there was plenty of room for both of us to race down this slide
at the children's museum.

Chopper

How cool was this! We didn't actually get off the ground but we were all inside this cool helicopter. Which one of us was the pilot you think?
