Here kitty, kitty

Come on over, we just want to pet you, you meat devouring beast.

Cat's Eye View

This wasn't very intimidating at all. Walking
directly below the kings of the savannah.
If you ever needed hope in Cuban construction, this was the moment.

Meow!

Hey Glamma! Don't be so scared. Come on out from that car. It's just a lion!!!

Out of Cuba

starring Darius and Poppa.

Poppa, this way!

Looks like it was Poppa's turn to be amazed by the animals. Poppa, we're trying to take your picture.

He's coming

Soren was anxious to get going, but Darius was still mesmerized by the approaching giraffe. Good thing it wasn't the rhino approaching.

Safari

What a truly remarkable place! Now that we've been to the Cuban safari, we won't be needing to do a posting to Africa anytime soon.
Won't the grandparents be happy!

No contest

In the ever present competition of brothers to see who is bigger, stronger and taller, there is no contest. It would take 5 Sorens and 7 Darius' to reach the height of our jolly giraffe in the background.

Look out Poppa!

There's a couple of rhinos behind you heading your way.

The giraffes and those striped horses are okay, but those horned guys can really cause some damage.

How tall is a giraffe?

Just this tall! Not quite as big as me.

Giraffe Sighting

Would you believe that we were not in Africa? It's true.
We are actually in Havana. Who knew that there was an African savannah just outside the city?

The champion is....

...Mr. Marley by a couple of paw lengths. Daddy didn't stand a chance in his old roller blades.

The Race

Alrighty oddsmakers, who would win in this race?
A short, 4 legged creature or a tall 2 legged creature on 8 wheels?

Focus

Papa, you need to watch for the cars on the road, because I need to focus on each step and what's in front of me.
Papa, the road, not me!

No strings

Come one Papa, I'm ready. No need to hold onto me. Cut the strings and let me go.

Rest time

This roller blading is a lot of work. It's about time I got a break.

Speed

The best part of blading is still riding with Daddy at maximum speed. This is because he does all the work and I just get to coast with the wind blowing in my face.

On my own

It's still hard working on the balance and the skating motion, but at least I can go for very short distances on my own without falling. Mommy caught me on camera on one of those rare instances.

Early steps

I'd say for one of my 1st times out, I was doing pretty good. Not falling, on my own. I'm ready for the draft.

Blading

Poppa wanted to see how we were progressing our roller blading / skating. He wants to make sure that when we get back to Canada, we'll be ready to play some ice hockey.

2 x 2

2 sets of pyjamas, 2 sets of siblings, 2 sets of monkeys climbing on a couch.

PJ Sharing

With Emily, I will share just about anything, including my pyjamas.

The Law

Alright kids, I'm the law around this tub. If anybody disobeys, they're going to hear from the pistol. Got it?

Rub a dub, dub, dub & dub

as there's 4 in a tub.
If you're a Burger, put your fingers in your ears.

The cave

I welcome you all to the crazy, cool cave that we built. There's room for all of us inside. There's no bears hibernating inside here. How could they sleep, it's too warm!

Charlie Stinky Socks

Poppa brought me a brand new book, which we could hardly put down. Even at the dinner table, we were enthralled.

End of the line

Just like in the early days of exploration, once your wagon hits the jungle and you can no longer easily pass it's time to make a decision. Do I stay and get eaten by mosquitoes or do I go back to civilization? I think we'll just try another jungle.

Delicioso!

I'm not sure how the Soren's tasted, but I am completely satisfied.

Spaghetti

There is always more than one way to eat something and that holds for something as simple as spaghetti. You can eat it "a la nada" with nothing but the noodles, ensuring a nice clean and simple meal. Or you can have it "a la bolognesa" and go crazy, worrying about the mess later. Who ever said brothers are the same, never met us.

Just like Poppa

I don't have the big, curly hair of Poppa, so I tried to be like him

by putting on a big, fuzzy hat. It didn't quite work, but I got a good story out of it.

The hunt is on!

While sharing is loosely part of our vocabulary, our competitive instincts led us to compete for who would collect the most eggs. This is where big brothers have the advantage of size and experience.

Eggs??

This was the start of an important task: the annual hunt for Easter eggs. Apparently, some oversized rabbit shows up and leaves coloured and chocolate eggs all over the place. But what do eggs and rabbits have to do with each other?

Special Cake

Mommy & I were hard at work making a special chocolate cake. While we won't say how many years, but it was Glamma's birthday and she had come a long way to celebrate with us.

It wasn't me.

I swear, I didn't do anything. I was simply watching the hockey game that you see in the background.

Life is good...

...when you can just sit back, have a juice and watch the world go by.

Friends have arrived!

I knew they were coming. Emily and Julien finally arrived. Quesadillas and crackers all around. No, not for you Mr. Marley.

Dinner anyone?

I've got a table for 4 here, but it looks like I've been stood up. Where are my friends? I thought they were coming over for dinner.

My Backyard

Welcome to my new patio. We recently had ceramic tiles laid beneath the new roof. What a difference instead of concrete. I hope the people moving in after us are pleased about it.

Pros

Just waiting for the crest of the wave to get here. Daddy is going to try some body surfing. What a pro!

Where's the wave?

There's not too much action on the calm waters of Varadero. We can't get much air on these waves. Bummer, dude!
