The Star of the Show

The parents got a rare opportunity to go backstage and photograph the performers. What a treat!

The Audience

After performing, la petite section, was able to enjoy the rest of the performances from the audience. Well deserved. The elephants had to sit on the floor.

Rounding the corner

Soren, le petit éléphant, continues to stomp away in unison to the music and his mates.

Les elephants se balancent

As the song goes. How can you pick out Soren? Easy, the shortest elephant.

End of year

Soren's end of year class performance. The students made their costumes and performed the march of the elephants all to music that they sang to. Bravo!

World Cup Break

While Canada Day was the main focus, there happened to be some important World Cup matches on. Daddy and the sombrero yielding Soren, stopped in to check out Argentina vs Mexico. Un classico!

The Consuls

A quiet moment to talk strategy between the Consul General and the Honorary Consul. Lots of wisdom in this photo.

Construction time

It may be a stat holiday, but there's always work to be done on the beach.

Off to the water

Take me there, lady! I want to wade in the water.

Canada Day Special

The weather turned out to be great for the North Coast Canada Day celebration. Nicely organized by Club Canada, they even brought in some lifeguards / sitters to ensure the little guys were well looked after. How could you not be with this georgious weather?

Celebration

Not often you get a big crowd celebrating Canada outside of its borders, so this was a nice treat. Especially when you add in a beach to the mix for the kids.

Pensive

Always the thinker, Soren takes a time out to consider his surroundings. We are after all on the North coast of the DR to celebrate Canada Day, far from Canada.

Cabarete

What better way to take in the World Cup than at an Irish Bar. O'Shea's just happened to be about 3 hours from Santo Domingo in a town on the north coast, called Cabarete.

Back Home

After a nice visit to Canada in May, we were back to our old tricks in the DR. The school year was starting to wind down so our smiles were getting bigger.

To Work

Sometimes you just have to earn your keep. Although, I don't know if Papa's wages are sufficient for the quality of my work.

Benchwarmers

Only because, we're still a little young to be the stars. We won't be waiting our turn for too much longer.

Big Hug

Can't remember why, but most likely well deserved.

Co-captain

Although with Glamma as the captain there are a couple of things to note.
1) The wearing of a life jacket
2) Sitting close to the wheel
You can never be too prepared.

Blondies

Visiting back in Canada created an opportunity to find a fellow natural blond. Not so many down in Santo Domingo.

Working off-site

In today's day and age, it's hard to leave work behind. Even up at the lake for the weekend, there always seems to be a reason to log in.

Water front construction

Only inevitable that the price of property will go up. Better buy a lot now and start building. My tools are already in place.

Must be Canada

You would never catch me wearing this in Santo Domingo.
Even in winter, there's no room for toques or bathrobes.

Who's dat?

This dark, elongated guy on the ground seems to be following me everywhere I go. Everywhere I turn, he's there and yet he doesn't say a thing. How very strange!

Ninja Power

Masked or not, a small battle cry and the little ninjas are ready to take on all challengers.

Behind the Mask

With a marked similarity to the golden locks of Kelly Hrudey, this sturdy keeper envisions a future behind the mask.

Hats off

Despite his youth, he's showing a high level of bravity and smarts required for a goalie. Brave to not require any equipment. Smarts to ensure that at least he has a mask.

Tenting

Lots of little guys in my tent. Time to roll them sideways.

3 in a tree

All we're missing is a house for this tree. Hey Poppa, if you build it, we won't need to occupy all that space in your house when we come visit.

Scaling new heights

This is Papa's tree in his front yard. We finally figured out another use for it, other than hanging Christmas lights.

Set up man

Soren is already working on his setup game with a nice feed
over to Liam.

Liam's mom looks on impressed by the tandem.

Future 1st line

You're looking at potentially the future 1st line of the Ottawa Senators, or at the very least, the Damaged Goods. Sniper Liam Jaeggin on the right wing, Setup man Soren Burger at centre, Grinder Darius Burger cruising up and down the left wing. Looks pretty fine to me.

Introducing.....Liam

The next in a long line of spaghetti eating, hockey playing, Swiss Canadians, the world has welcomed Liam Jaeggin. Soren is quite taken by the little guy. Could he really be a sniper?
