After hiking up the mountain with Marley, Daddy needed a little inspiration to get back down. A little bit of Dominican tobacco and some balloons to provide some lift was all that was required.
After all that climbing, jumping and hiking it was time to head back down the mountain for our Thanksgiving turkey dinner. Who better to ride the chairlift with than Carmen, the Swiss girl.
We're up at Mont Ste. Marie for Thansgiving where the colours are spectacular and they run the chairlift to allow people up onto the mountain to see they wonderful views of the Gatineau hills.
This was our first Canadian fall ever and it had been 6 years for Mommy & Daddy. It was a season that we greatly missed and we sure appreciated all the colours this year.
I got a brand new snow suit so who says a Dominican can't handle winter. I can't wait to run out into the snow in my barefeet, just like in the sand. Boots? What are boots?
While Uncle Bill takes centre stage up at the kitchen bar, baby Conor was also on the scene. If you look back and see Uncle Carl you know that Conor was not missing out on this party.
Mommy and Daddy hosted a nice birthday party for Grandma with a lot of her friends. We couldn't believe it was her 70th as we're still learning to count that high.
My big birthday party was great but it wasn't on my actual birthday. On my big day, we had a nice visit from our neighbours, Adam and Noam. Very nice of them to drop by.
It was a glorious day that despite being in mid-September, felt like summer. All the kids were in shorts and running around the new backyard and the BBQ was in full swing.
You know what this means. Time for another birthday. Mommy made another classic, this time a Captain America cake for Darius' 4th birthday. It was the first celebration for either of us in Canada and really nice to have all of our cousins around.
Darius, follow me. Our bus stop is just up here at the end of the street. I'm an expert now after 1 day. When we get to school, I'll show you the playground too. Don't worry, you've got a big brother to show you the ropes.
Look out Jean-Paul II - the Burger boys are ready for you. We've got our new school bags and we're ready to take on the playground by storm. For the first time, we'll be going to the same school.
It's a new beginning for me too. For me this is not only a new school, but also a new language as I'll be now learning French instead of Spanish. To help me transition, I only have 2 days of school in my 1st week of junior kindergarten.
Off I go with my new bus driver, Gord. He's a pretty nice guy and he says that there will be lots of other kids joining me on the bus. I'm just the 1st stop. I get to pick my seat everyday.
This is cool, Daddy is walking me to school. Wait a second, just to the bus stop? I have to take a bus? Where's Pepe to pick me up like in Santo Domingo or Julio in Havana? I'm not sure about this. But at least Daddy was able to walk me on day .
Well, the summer holidays are over. This was a very big day as I began my Canadian scholastic career. Yes, I've been to the Lycee Claudel for the last 2 years, but this is a little different. I'm now at Jean-Paul II. Who is Jean-Paul II?
Well, Thing 1 and 2 anyways. Saunders Farm certainly does not have the most intimidating bear ever. Thing 2 can sit on it and it only goes up to the waist of Thing 1.
