Japanese Colony


As amazing as that sounds, under former President Trujillo, in the 1940s and 1950s a number of Japanese immigrants were brought to the DR specifically to Constanza to work in agriculture. They set the bar high. While few remain, the discipline they brought lives on through the important agricultural work being done.


Is it a coincidence sushi is popular in this country too?
